Ms. Dou Zhang is a visionary and creative designer. She has led and participated in many award winning projects for over 20 years. Her bold design approaches not only break through the conventional thinking and offer fresh perspectives, also are closely tied with each specific site and celebrate the unique features rarely appreciated before. Ms. Zhang’s architectural background and experience on master planning enable her to carry out grand visions as well as finite details, from landscape to a more integrated environment.
Ms. Zhang has been actively promoting the landscape profession in China, and internationally. She is the initiator of the Shanghai Landscape Forum, a semi-annual professional conference in Shanghai, a member of GBCI Credentialing Steering Committee, a member of USGBC Sustainable Sites Technical Advisory Group, and the former Co-Chair of ASLA International PPN.
Ms. Zhang also takes an active part in various academic activities. She has spoken at many professional conferences and served as competition jury members both nationally and internationally. Since 2018, she has been teaching the landscape graduate design studio at Tongji University.
