30 Crossing Park Master Plan
Little Rock, AR
The ASLA Colorado/Wyoming Design Awards celebrate excellence in the planning and design of our cultural and natural environment. Sasaki is delighted to announce that two projects have received accolades this year, including one of two President’s Awards of Excellence.
The completion of Arkansas’ 30 Crossing highway project released 18 acres of land formerly occupied by ramps and interchanges back to the city of Little Rock, unlocking a critical opportunity to reconnect downtown Little Rock with the waterfront and uplift the public realm. 30 Crossing Park offers a development model for American cities grappling with aging transportation infrastructure by reimagining a decommissioned site as a civic landmark that connects cultural assets, neighborhoods, and park and trail systems.
Denargo Market sets a new standard for riverfront development in Denver by starting with the public realm network to transform a 13-acre urban infill site into a vibrant mixed-use district. Through careful coordination between surrounding neighborhoods and complex environmental and engineering constraints, the design team created a framework that supports seven city blocks of future-ready vertical development, a year-round open space, and Denver’s largest district stormwater system.
Congratulations to each of Sasaki’s design teams. To learn more about the awarded projects, visit ASLA CO/WY’s webpage.
