The Center for Architecture Sarasota will display the photography of Alan Ward, FASLA, a principal and landscape architect. Sponsored in part by Sasaki, “American Designed Landscapes: SPACE and LIGHT” will feature selections from Ward’s portfolio, which stretches back some 30 years and records some of the country’s most significant landscape designs.
“Each site is in some way a landmark or signifies a transition point in American landscape design,” reads the exhibition statement. “These places have endured, surviving because they were valued by public and private owners and because their designers successfully envisioned how the landscape would change over time.”
The opening reception is Tuesday, October 16. On November 15, Ward will give a lecture on photography at the Center for Architecture Sarasota. Visit the Center’s website for more details, and scroll on for a glimpse at photos that will be featured in the show.
