Seeking Public Input on Copley Square Plaza

The City of Boston’s Parks & Recreation department and Sasaki’s design team released three new concepts for the renovation of Boston’s Copley Square Plaza at their second public meeting held on February 12, 2021.

The first public meeting and a widely-distributed survey over the fall of 2020 garnered over 1,000 responses from the public; now the team hopes to see similar participation in this next round of public engagement. Feedback on the three concepts will help Sasaki’s team to refine a single concept to advance and share back with the public in the months ahead.

Since the first public meeting in November, 2020, the City of Boston has increased the project’s budget to $10.9 million, allowing for a more in-depth renovation of the 1980s-era existing design. Learn more about the project in this recent article published in The Boston Globe or on Boston.gov’s project page.
