Boston, MA – August 19, 2024 Integrated design practice Sasaki has named Caitlyn Clauson as the firm’s new president. The appointment recognizes Clauson’s deep understanding of the firm’s multidisciplinary approach, as well as her belief in design as a collective practice. Her passion for fostering creative and inclusive collaboration will guide Sasaki into its next chapter.
In her new role, Clauson leads the strategic direction of the firm and ensures Sasaki’s culture continues to thrive. She oversees the firm’s financial success, as well as cultivates professional growth. As president, Clauson will serve as the Chair of Sasaki’s Board of Directors. In addition to her responsibilities, she will also continue her practice as a planner, reflecting her commitment to creating meaningful impact at scale and ensuring that her leadership is grounded in the issues clients and communities face today.
“At Sasaki, we believe design must be a collective, contextual, and values-driven exercise, and I am honored to lead such a talented and dedicated team,” said Clauson. “I look forward to stewarding the firm’s legacy; engaging with and empowering teams, clients, and communities; and exploring new opportunities that align with our values and vision. Our practice was founded on the idea that diverse perspectives yield better, more impactful outcomes. I’m deeply invested in that idea, and together our voices will shape Sasaki’s future.”
Clauson is a planner and principal with expertise in developing comprehensive campus plans, effective engagement and outreach strategies, and participatory planning tools. Her evidence-based approach brings robust analysis and compelling design together to reinforce each project’s goals and vision.
