Chanwoo’s multidisciplinary education and experience in architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design allows him to work in wide range of scales—from designing a small open space that promotes vibrant urban communities and ecological performances, to a geographic and geometric investigation of regional landscape structures and infrastructural systems of a city.
As an urban designer in Sasaki’s campus practice, his work focuses on providing holistic design strategies to universities through a thorough understanding of the campus context and critical envisioning of the design excellence. He is also heavily involved in employing his interdisciplinary perspectives in integrating design tools with data and parameters to create efficient digital workflows as well as to facilitate flexible design solutions. Chanwoo teaches an Urban Design and Infrastructure studio at the Boston Architectural College.
Chanwoo holds a Master of Architecture in Urban Design and a Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of architectural Engineering from Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea.
