The Financing Climate Action Conference 2020 is an inaugural conference organized by Malaysian Green Technology & Climate Change Centre, Malaysian Green Building Council, and the British High Commission of Kuala Lumpur. The conference aims to bring together thought leaders, policy makers, financial practitioners and relevant stakeholders to deliberate on pressing issues and develop a framework for an enabling environment to foster climate finance.
Through the theme of Synergizing Public-Private Finance for Climate Action, the FCAC2020 session is organized based on growing interest from the public and the private sector in the merger of economic and environmental recovery after Covid-19.
Sasaki principal Dennis Pieprz, honorary ASLA, was asked to speak about how urban design and smart city thinking can leverage investment and innovation. He focused on ideas, strategies, and tactics employed in various kinds of projects Sasaki has worked on in North America. Pieprz presented a number of Sasaki case studies, including Lakeview Village Master Plan, Tecnológico de Monterrey Urban Regeneration Plan, and the Novus Innovation Corridor.
