Sasaki principal Dennis Pieprz, Honorary ASLA recently served on the jury for an international design competition to design a new Special Education School affiliated with the College of Education of Kongju National University in South Korea.

The new Special Education School will accommodate students with learning disabilities in a forward-looking, accessible, and sustainable environment. The competition was run as an all-digital process, and the final presentations took place via Zoom. The First Prize was unanimously awarded to Grafton Architects, who, according to Pieprz, “designed a remarkable response to a complex program and site.”

The new school is expected to open in 2023.
