Alison finds delight in collaborating with project teams to shape the interactions between the built environment, human behavior, culture, and natural systems into built form. She integrates sustainable design across Architecture and Interiors at Sasaki. On select projects, she is embedded as sustainability lead.
Alison’s broad experience as an architect and interior designer include residence halls, multi-family housing, lab/office buildings, and interior renovations for higher education clients. She catalyzes design opportunities to uncover solutions for integrating performance and environmental stewardship into projects at multiple scales. A trained visual artist, Alison brings a distinct perspective and innovative approach to solving complexity. Serving as a catalyst and a facilitator, she has deep experience in listening and consensus building, demonstrates effective collaboration skills to inspire and foster connection, and is a skilled communicator.
Alison has 20 years of project experience in architecture, interiors, and lighting design, as well as strategic leadership experience as a former Sustainability Practice Leader at a mid-sized firm. She serves on the Boston Society of Architects (BSA) Board of Directors with a focus on Climate, and is an active member of the Carbon Leadership Forum (CLF). In 2021, Alison was instrumental in developing recommendations to include embodied carbon accounting for new construction and major renovations as well as proposed model code language to inform the development of the Opt-In Net Zero Stretch Code in Massachusetts. Alison’s proposal for Mass CEC’s 2021 Triple Decker Challenge was the winning proposal for the Bring Your Own Building category.
