Pride at Sasaki: Celebrating Diversity, Community & Identity

Pride Month is a time of reflection, celebration, and unwavering support for the LGBTQIA+ community. It serves as a vibrant reminder of the importance of acceptance, diversity, and love—not only in society at large but within our own firm.

At Sasaki, we are proud to support and celebrate our LGBTQIA+ colleagues, friends, and loved ones—not just during Pride Month, but every day. We believe that inclusive environments fuel creative work, and that by honoring individual identity, we create space for everyone to thrive.

This June, Sasaki teams across all offices marked Pride with community-building events, cultural programming, and local outreach efforts that reflect our values of equity and care. Here’s how we celebrated:

Boston

During the week of June 9, Sasaki’s Boston office came together to celebrate Pride through a series of vibrant and meaningful events. We kicked things off with a colorful Tie-Dye Happy Hour, where team members brought items to dye or selected from a supply of shirts and bandanas, enjoying a relaxed afternoon of creativity and community.

We also gathered for a powerful Lunch & Learn screening of Tongues Untied, Marlon Riggs’ groundbreaking documentary that gave voice to the complexities of racial and sexual identity in America. Our All-Office Pride Lunch featured a delicious meal from Basil Tree, a queer-owned restaurant, and the unveiling of new Project Boards celebrating Sasaki’s LGBTQIA+ work. We ended the week with pride and visibility, marching together in the Boston Pride Parade on Saturday, June 14.

New York

For Pride, the New York studio partnered with the Ali Forney Center—an incredible organization supporting LGBTQ+ and at-risk youth through 24-hour housing and job readiness programs. Together, we created snack bags, shaving kits, and handmade birthday cards to support their community. We capped it off with a colorful happy hour featuring rainbow cocktails, delicious bites from local LGBTQ-owned caterer Sandwich Girl, and some much-needed connection and celebration with each other.

Denver

During the week of June 23, Sasaki’s Denver office celebrated Pride through a series of events leading up to Denver PrideFest—a full weekend celebration in the city which includes parades, road races, and festivals.

Denver Pride is produced by The Center on Colfax, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides year-round programs and services for the LGBTQ+ community completely free-of-charge. Since its inception in 1974, Denver Pride has flourished into the largest Pride in the Rocky Mountain region with over 500,000 visitors annually. The parade bookended the month-long celebrations—the Denver office is proud to sponsor ASLA CO-WY in this year’s Pride Parade, with team members joining in the festivities.

Gearing up for the parade, Sasaki Denver had an in-office tie-dye happy hour and a lunch event catered from Miss Millies Kitchen (LGBT+ owned and operated).

Los Angeles

After participating in the LA Pride Parade, the Los Angeles studio has been engaging with the local community through volunteer efforts this month.

At Sasaki, Pride is more than a moment—it’s a movement toward a more inclusive, compassionate, and creative world. Happy Pride! 🏳️‍🌈
