Lakeview Village Hosts Public Meeting

The public meeting for Lakeview Village held in mid-June was a great success, bringing 350 people together to learn about the planning effort now underway.
The public meeting was an opportunity for the City of Mississauga community to see the latest plans for the 177-acre former power plant site on Lake Ontario.
The event kicked-off with presentations from Sasaki, the Mayor of Mississauga, and a First Nations water ceremony, and included interactive models, VR-renderings, and a huge plan on the floor that everyone gathered around.

Sasaki shared some relevant work from around the world, including our Zidell Yards Master Plan project in Portland, Oregon
The Lakeview Community Partners and Sasaki design team
The public was invited to share their ideas via analog and digital methods including comment cards and surveys
Proposed plans were presented in a number of formats including interactive displays and Virtual Reality depictions
Custom-made light-up maps help explain the future development ideas
A variety of engagement methods including Virtual Reality (VR) were employed
