Data Development

As a critical input to the space-planning process, we assist our clients in preparing databases of existing space use. We do not take data at face value, but look at it in the context of our extensive experience in academic institutions, cleaning up institutional space-use information as needed for analytical purposes. With this data and existing building plans, we create “smart” databases that link room-use information to digital diagrams. These dynamic diagrams serve as a tool for analyzing and discussing space visually, and for understanding spatial adjacencies. The data can also be viewed and analyzed in spreadsheet form for quantitative analysis.
