Jen is a NCIDQ Certified interior designer with over 15 years of experience in a wide variety of educational and commercial projects. She believes that design is a problem solving process meant to create spaces that meet the needs of the users while enhancing their experience. Jen often quotes a favorite graphic design professor who would say “good design is like dinner in a five star restaurant…it’s the attention to detail that counts.” Carefully considered details that provide functionality or add depth to an aesthetic/organizational concept are one of Jen’s strengths..Â
Before studying interior design, Jen worked for a decade as a graphic designer. She often draws on her experience in corporate brand identity development to connect employees with their company’s mission and vision through their workplace. Recently, she has been more involved in integrating environmental graphics into the overall three-dimensional experience. Her graphic sensibilities were also put to good use while designing the interior renovations for the Microsoft NERD Center in Cambridge, MA. This project layered a multitude of finishes, patterns, and graphics, to create a rich, unique, and inviting space, highlighting it’s signature location on the Charles River.Â
Jen is a dedicated member of IIDA New England, serving on the Chapter Sponsorship and Fashion Show committees. She co-chairs the Fashion Show committee, where she recently produced, wrote, and directed a feature length documentary film celebrating the last two decades of this signature event in lieu of a 2021 in person show. Jen holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Syracuse University in Communications Design, and a Master of Art Interior Design from Suffolk University.
