Sasaki Sponsors TCLF 2018 Conference

This year, Sasaki was a proud Premier Sponsor of The Cultural Landscape Foundation national conference held in Raleigh, North Carolina. “Leading with Landscape IV,” which took place in early April, featured a day of panel discussions, including a deep-dive presentation into the ongoing work at Moore Square in Raleigh, and was followed by a weekend of tours around the Raleigh metro area. While attending the conference, senior associate and landscape architect, Susannah Ross, ASLA, LEED AP, was officially elected onto the TCLF board.

Senior associates Eamonn Hutton, ASLA, and Laura Marett, ASLA, LEED AP, gave a tour of Downtown Raleigh’s parks alongside Earnest Dollar, Director of the Raleigh Museum. Marett shared research from Sasaki’s Emerald Necklace work and Hutton presented on the future of Moore Square. Fellow Sasakian and Raleigh native, Breeze Outlaw, recounted their childhood experiences at Moore Square.

“TCLF’s mission is to connect people to places, educating and engaging the public to make our shared landscape heritage more visible and to identify its value. The Sasaki mission goes hand in hand with TCLF’s: we design and build the spaces that are the context and the content of our experience, and TCLF ensures that the value of such spaces lives on in the public consciousness,” noted Ross. “‘Leading with Landscape IV’ was yet another in a series of stimulating, inspiring conversations engaging the best of the design community and those who—like TCLF—care deeply about our landscapes, and Sasaki is proud and honored to have been a sponsor.”
