Denver Office Directors Discuss Design Trends in Region
Sasaki's Denver office directors spoke on a roundtable at Denver Design Week, a showcase of the region’s best architecture, interiors, art, brands, and technology
Sasaki’s growing Denver team has expanded into a new office in downtown Denver, CO. Sasaki opened a dedicated office in Denver, Colorado in 2020 to better serve clients throughout the Western United States and Canada.
The Denver office is led by directors and associate principals Anna Cawrse, ASLA, PLA and Joshua Brooks, ASLA, PLA, AICP. The Denver team has grown to 19 designers and planners across disciplines and levels, and continues to attract talent in the area. Sasaki’s new Denver office is located at 414 14th Street, Suite 250 in the historic Denver Public School Administration Building.
Since opening our Denver office, Sasaki has begun and completed many exciting projects that will impact real estate and the public realm across Colorado. Several projects include efforts where our multidisciplinary team of architects, landscape architects, and planners have led innovative master plans for campus, commercial, and municipal clients. The Foothills Mall Redevelopment in Fort Collins reimagines a defunct mall as a new, thriving urban district, and our University of Colorado Boulder campus master plan establishes a 30-year vision for the campus. The DEN Non-Aviation Real Estate Strategic Plan lays out a series of mixed-use campuses nestled into the unique prairie landscape of Denver International Airport, allowing new manufacturing, office, and retail and hospitality uses to come to life. All of these master planning efforts bring together urban design with strategic thinking that adds value to our clients and the surrounding communities.
In addition to our planning efforts, Sasaki has also been working on a series of ambitious public realm design projects, like the Dumke Arts Plaza in Ogden, Utah, an innovative civic space uniting the community around art. Another popular arts neighborhood, Denver’s River North Art District, is undergoing a public realm master planning effort to create safe and comfortable streetscapes and gathering spaces. Back in downtown Denver, Sasaki is working to activate the Denargo Market development along the river’s edge with arts, recreation, and retail. In all of these efforts, our multidisciplinary teams have worked together to blend form and function into iconic new places.
