Anna Cawrse is a leading landscape architect and park designer known for her inclusive approach to bringing nature into cities. As a partner at Sasaki and the first woman to serve as Chair of Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Ecology, Anna’s expertise spans planning and design at every scale—from large regional parks along major waterways to small, neighborhood-focused public spaces. Leading with landscape, she is creating more beautiful, equitable, and resilient public spaces that enrich a sense of place.

With projects across North America and beyond, Anna is passionate about transforming public spaces into vibrant, resilient landscapes that strengthen cities and communities.
Her portfolio of work includes the Arboretum San Antonio, an innovative vision for a ground-start arboretum; the Santa Monica Airport Conversion, transforming the former airport into a vibrant Great Park for the city; the Lake Monona Waterfront in Madison, Wisconsin, an integrated landscape reconnecting the city with its iconic lakefront; and the Dumke Arts Plaza in Ogden, Utah, a dynamic public plaza that celebrates art, culture, and gathering. Each of these projects exemplifies Anna’s commitment to creating meaningful, inclusive spaces that bring communities together.
Anna holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from Colorado State University.
