Outlaw Joins LAF Board of Directors

Sasaki is proud to announce that landscape designer Breeze Outlaw, ASLA has joined Landscape Architecture Foundation’s 2020-2021 Board of Directors. As part of the board, Outlaw will contribute thought leadership to LAF’s impactful programs and initiatives.

“Joining the LAF board provides me the opportunity to directly engage in the transformational change and decision-making necessary in the profession,” says Outlaw. “In the wake of a global pandemic, the killing of Black people, and climate change—now is the time to develop strategies that center those who are most vulnerable and marginalized. It is time to expand our responsibility as stewards of the land so that we can redefine the meaning of health, safety, and welfare.”

As a 2016 LAF Olmsted Scholar, Outlaw was selected for the open Director positions for Olmsted Scholars. The LAF Olmsted Scholars Program recognizes and supports students with exceptional leadership potential who are using ideas, influence, communication, service, and leadership to advance sustainable design and foster human and societal benefits.

Sasaki principal and Chair of Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, & Ecology Michael Grove, ASLA also serves on the board, and was appointed in 2018. See the full LAF Board of Directors here.
