Sasaki Honored with Two SCUP Awards
Virginia Tech and University of Buffalo are recognized at the yearly conference
Principal Bill Massey, AIA, LEED® AP, has been appointed to the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) Governance and Leadership Committee. This appointment coincides with the commencement of his two-year term as Convener for the Campus Planning Academy. Bill has served as Associate Convener for the Academy since 2017.
Massey has been contributing to SCUP’s Campus Planning Academy for 10+ years as a volunteer. In his role as Convener he will lead the speaking proposal review process, ultimately giving direct input on the topics presented at SCUP National and Regional conferences. As a member of the Governance and Leadership Committee, Massey will use his historical knowledge of the organization to help identify new SCUP board members, ultimately assisting in the interview and selection process as board member positions are backfilled.
These appointments are representative of Sasaki’s larger involvement with SCUP – including sponsorship of the M. Perry Chapman Prize, and frequent speaking engagements by company leaders at both Regional and National conferences. “A decade after first engaging with SCUP, I’m really excited to serve in a greater capacity,” Massey said. “I look forward to helping the organization effectively serve those who work in the campus environment.”
