Tianwen’s professional and academic experience in both China and US enriched her knowledge in both Landscape and Urban Design fields. She has participated in many projects involving international teams, including urban public open space, commercial mixed-use development, residential landscape design, and CBD urban design. At Sasaki, Tianwen is very interested in exploring how to use small-scale design interventions to ameliorate the environmental quality of urban public open spaces in order to catalyze the urban social life. She did a lot of research on this topic, reinventing the public open space in old communities during her graduate study. In addition, Tianwen continues to explore green infrastructure technology, and apply them to real-world projects. She believes that emphasizing people’s environmental experience is important in the design process.
