Meet the 2024 Sasaki Summer Interns
Sasaki welcomes seven new interns to the Boston office
Sasaki has annually facilitated a summer internship program for several decades to provide students and recent-graduates with meaningful experiences in interdisciplinary design.
The bees on our roof deck aren’t the only source of buzz at our Boston office as nine new Sasakians have joined us at 110 Chauncy St.
With over 1,500 applicants, our interns rose to the top of the pool by demonstrating extraordinary capabilities in architecture, civil engineering, planning and more. Since last week, each intern has been contributing quality work in one of Sasaki’s nine disciplines. Beyond diverse design experiences, each individual also brings a colorful thread of personality and life with them to the office.

Designing community spaces like parks, athletic facilities, or schools is not a solo effort. Conscientious stakeholder engagement and cross-team collaboration catapults human-centered design to the forefront of our priorities.
After researching Sasaki’s history and projects, I loved how the office’s multidisciplinary dynamic was as colorful as its logo!

Pittsburgh! Growing up in Morgantown, I viewed Pittsburgh as the big city. Its architecture, bridges, sports, outdoor recreation, and events, combined with the beautiful mountains by the river, are truly tough to beat. Sorry, Boston, maybe next time!
The people. The Sasaki community embodies the connection between design, people, and the world. The individuals I’ve met through Sasaki have become some of my closest friends, colleagues, and mentors.

Sasaki represents the intersection of innovation, collaboration, and care for the public realm. Coming from both practice and academia, I was drawn to how the firm bridges design and research to shape more connected, inclusive cities. It felt like a place where I could grow, be challenged, and contribute meaningfully.
Going for a morning run, especially when I can take it slow and enjoy a nice run along the Charles River.
