Sasaki’s 10 World Trade Shortlisted by World Architecture News Awards

Sasaki is delighted to announce that our 10 World Trade office tower in Boston’s Seaport District was named a shortlisted project by the World Architecture News (WAN) Awards!

The project is one of seven shortlisted projects in the Future Project – Commercial category. Here’s what WAN had to say about 10 World Trade:

“The Sasaki-designed building and landscape will deliver over 200,000 sq ft of new lab space, over 255,000 sq ft of office space, 8,000 sq ft for cultural uses, 6,500 sq ft dedicated to retail, and 40,000 sq ft of outdoor public realm and surface improvements along World Trade Center Avenue.

During the project’s early phases, the Sasaki-led design team recognized the unique opportunity to engage in an integrated approach between architecture and landscape to create a destination that prioritizes the public realm and creates an opportunity to reinvigorate the design of movement corridors within the Seaport. The team had to see beyond the typical aesthetic of a glass box sat atop a plaza, instead integrating transitions of interior and exterior spaces into larger site-wide gestures. Through the interplay of hard and softscape elements, the team envisioned a network of much-needed community open spaces as a singular, unified experience.”
