Landscape Architect
Nick Shannon, RLA, is a landscape architect at Sasaki. He brings a focus on systems thinking, technical design, and adaptable solutions— working across scales and types of projects. Nick integrates research into every aspect of a project, from systems-thinking to detailed site design, to craft strong project narratives that ground the landscape in its local context. He values the engagement of diverse stakeholder groups to coalesce around a shared vision that is responsive to the site’s specific ecological and cultural history, building relationships between people and their environment. Furthermore, he utilizes a multi-disciplinary approach to craft design frameworks and built landscapes that are resilient and adaptable to uncertain futures. This includes the development of new forms of living infrastructure that adapt with a changing climate, while providing new forms of public access to inspire the long-term stewardship of the landscape.
