Fordham University Residence Halls
| | | | Situated at the main pedestrian entry to campus, Fordham University's new residence halls will complete a major campus lawn and re-establish the importance of an historic pedestrian path through campus. Along this path at the ground elvel, these buildings will house a cafe, multi-purpose room, and classrooms; open and very visible to the population of the campus. |
|
Fordham University Student Life Facilities
| | | | This element of the broader Rose Hill Campus Development at Fordham University focuses on the creation of new student life facilities, updating and greatly expanding those offerings to the Fordham community. |
|
Grinnell College Athletic and Fitness Center
| | | | The new Athletic and Fitness Center will provide a comprehensive indoor facility, fully integrated with the outdoor athletic and recreation sports venues, in one central precinct on the north side of the campus. Facing the core campus, the 206,484 square foot center will appear as two separate pavilions - the gymnasium and the pool - but will be connected by an underground link. The green lawn between the two pavilions further emphasizes the axial link between the intercollegiate football field and the recently completed campus center. The double height activity spaces are sunk into the ground to minimize their volumes. |
|
Ohio State University Residential Towers Renovation
| | | | Ohio State University engaged Sasaki to examine the implications for a proposed major renovation to Lincoln Tower, one of two student high-rise residence halls adjacent to the Olentangy River in the heart of the Columbus campus. Working with the university, the project scope has grown to include both towers and the area around the base of the towers. |
|
Plymouth State University Ice Arena and Welcome Center
| | | | The first building at the multipurpose ALLWell Center, the new Plymouth State University Ice Arena and Welcome Center, continues a 50 year tradition of athletics and serves as a welcome center and a new gateway to campus. An innovative closed loop geothermal system has been designed to provide ice while significantly offsetting the heating and cooling loads of the facility. |
|
Sacred Heart University Gallery
| | | | The Gallery Student Life Facility is located in between the upper and lower campuses of Sacred Heart University to capture student pedestrian traffic. The program elements include a mix of dining, lounge space, the IT Factory where students can have their laptops repaired while being entertained. The central location of the facility intends to engage with the campus core, student residents and athletics. |
|
Stony Brook University Recreation Center
| | | | The new LEED® Gold Registered recreation center for Stony Brook University is on an extraordinarily tight site. Both to accommodate an aggressive program and give the building a prominent visual presence on campus, the overriding architectural idea is to set two orthogonal volumes, housing the gymnasium and Multi-Activity Courts (MAC), against an articulated pavilion, housing weights and fitness, multi-purpose studios and administration, that responds to the site constraints. These elements recall the glacial history of the landscape; the orthogonal spaces as "erratics" and the pavilion the ice flows. |

University of Balamand School of Engineering Complex
| | | | As part of the implementation of the master plan, Sasaki provided architecture and landscape architecture concept design services for the School of Engineering Building Complex.
Located at the eastern end of the core of the campus, the building parcel has a unique placement with uninterrupted views to Tripoli and the Mediterranean Sea to the south, and to the neighboring mountain range to the north. The School of Engineering Complex helps define a previously undefined edge of the campus, providing a terminus for the University's main pedestrian alley called the "Path of Learning". |

University of Missouri Kansas City Miller Nichols Library and Interactive Learning Center
| | | | The Miller Nichols Library and Academic Commons project consists of renovations to the existing library along with a major addition that doubles the footprint of the facility. Throughout the library there will be a programmatic blending of spaces dedicated to classrooms, collection materials, research, and social interaction and collaboration. Central to this arrangement will be a dramatic four story high academic commons that looks out over the Kansas City skyline. Situated at the heart of the campus, the new library will be immediately adjacent to the new student center, also being designed by Sasaki. |

University of New Haven Henry C. Lee Institute for Forensic Science
| | | | University of New Haven's Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Science is one of the foremost academic forensic programs in the country. The Institute strives to advance the criminal justice system bringing academics together with professional training, consultation, and research by focusing on both the scientific and social issues confronting forensic science. Campus Architecture and Interiors At the core of Sasaki’s approach is the recognition that the physical campus can significantly affect an institution’s ability to achieve its mission and strategic objectives. In support of an institutions mission, the campus must express it’s individual uniqueness; it’s place, region, and culture. In an increasingly competitive environment, a successful campus environment must integrate existing campus resources, learning environments, and campus life into a seamless long-term vision. To ensure long-term implementation success we believe the institutional leadership must be engaged in a rigorous, interactive process.
The outcome of this approach is a dynamic master plan, architecture and landscapes of enduring beauty and vitality.
