Al Azhar Park
|  | | | Located adjacent to Cairo’s densely populated old walled Islamic core, this 32-hectare site is surrounded by historic Muslim monuments and Al Azhar University. The Aga Khan Trust for Culture sponsored the conversion of this ancient refuse dump into a multi-purpose park to include recreation, gardens, restaurants, and cafes. Sasaki prepared master plan design documents involving landscape architecture, architecture, site and engineering design. |

American University in Cairo
|  | | | The master plan for AUC’s new campus addresses traditional environmental issues including material use and energy consumption as well as issues specific to the desert environment such as climate and ecology. The plan was developed in collaboration with Boston Design Collaborative and Abdel-Halim CDC. |

Zanzibar Stone Town
|  | | | Sasaki Associates, Inc. provided master planning and design services for a series of interrelated improvements to both private building areas and public spaces. Projects include conversion of two existing structures into a new Serena Hotel, restoration of an old dispensary into a cultural center. These provide opposite poles for a chain of proposed public open space improvements along the waterfront. |

Crossings New Community
|  | | | Located on farmland 26 kilometers east of Delhi, Sasaki's master plan for this urban residential and commercial community regenerates the area as a high-quality, mixed-use district that optimizes land and real estate values. The Crossings site will include residential land uses comprised of mixed-density to mid-to-high-end units, as well as affordable housing units for 40,000 residents. |

Agilent Technologies Corporate Campus
|  | | | Sasaki provided full planning and design services for Agilent Technology's new headquarters campus located in the Wang Jing Technology Park, northeast of Beijing's city center. The 45,000 square meter headquarters complex will reflect Agilent's corporate business culture and ideals for a productive, environmentally sustainable, and healthful workplace. |

Samsong Bromex Competition
|  | | | The vision for Samsong Bromex integrates programmatic elements with natural systems and sustainability strategies at the site and building level to create a vibrant mixed use community in the context of Goyang, Seoul, Korea. |

Qinhuangdao Master Plan
|  | | | In northern China's coastal city of Qinhuangdao, unchecked development threatens the urban identity of the city, and poses significant environmental concerns. Qinhuangdao's native dune ecosystem has been severely degraded, maritime forests have been cut, and stream corridors which drain into the Bohai Bay carry urban refuse and storm water. Sasaki worked with developer Kerry Properties to transform the site into a vibrant urban district that re-establishes the dune ecosystem, restores an urban stream, and creates a mixed-use waterfront destination for this city of 3 million. |

Tohuku University Master Plan
|  | | | Tohoku University is comprised of five different campuses in the city of Sendai, Japan. The University is in the course of planning the relocation of the college of Agriculture and other academic programs from downtown to the Aobayama campus, including 2 million square feet of space to be developed in two phases. The main goal for Sasaki's master plan is to create a strong image for the New Aobayama Campus. |

Doosan 100 Year Park
|  | | | Sasaki created a conceptual design for a small urban park commemorating the 100 year anniversary of the Doosan Corporation. The 100 square meter park consists of a parabolic granite wall, a flower bed, and a cylindrical tower 25 meters in height located in the center of the site. In collaboration with Sisang Design Group and Synwha Consulting Co. Ltd., Korea. |

Guangzhou Science City Center Urban Design
|  | | | Sasaki's design plan for the Science City Center integrates research and education facilities with administration, corporate offices, hotels, residential, retail, and entertainment uses. Public functions such as museums, exhibition and conference center are related directly to major civic open spaces. |
