Al Azhar Park
|  | | | Located adjacent to Cairo’s densely populated old walled Islamic core, this 32-hectare site is surrounded by historic Muslim monuments and Al Azhar University. The Aga Khan Trust for Culture sponsored the conversion of this ancient refuse dump into a multi-purpose park to include recreation, gardens, restaurants, and cafes. Sasaki prepared master plan design documents involving landscape architecture, architecture, site and engineering design. |

American University in Cairo
|  | | | The master plan for AUC’s new campus addresses traditional environmental issues including material use and energy consumption as well as issues specific to the desert environment such as climate and ecology. Arzanah Development
|  | | | Arzanah is a milestone development in the evolution of Abu Dhabi and the UAE. Home to the Zayed National Stadium and related land uses, Arzanah will become a dynamic, transit served mixed-use community of high-rise, mid-rise and town-house neighborhoods, featuring an abundance of publicly accessible community health, sport, leisure, and retail/entertainment facilities. The existing Zayed Sports Stadium will be transformed into a multi-functional sports and recreational complex and will be seamlessly integrated with surrounding land uses. A world-class public realm and landscape will create environmental value, promote healthy living, and encourage an active Abu Dhabi lifestyle. |

Baltimore Museum of Art Levi Sculpture Garden
|  | | | Sasaki's master plan and landscape design for the Levi Sculpture Garden preserve the existing trees and create a sense of fit between what existed and what was new. Fourteen sculptures are sited in the two acre garden including works by Henry Moore, Joan Miro, and Isamu Noguchi. |

Boston College Master Plan
|  | | | Boston College, located in Boston's Chestnut Hill area, greatly expanded its overall campus size with the acquisition of 43 acres of contiguous property in Brighton in 2004. Added to the college's 40-acre Newton campus, the main challenge presented to Sasaki was to knit the 200-acre total together, physically and psychologically. The team was further challenged to place "learning everywhere," breaking down the boundaries between student life and academic learning, in the same way that Jesuit pedagogy seeks to bridge the divide between academic theory and personal action. |

Boston Waterfront Park and Long Wharf
|  | | | Boston’s historic waterfront park is located in an area formerly devoted to mercantile and shipping activities. The site was cleared to complete the open space and pedestrian link from Boston's Government Center complex via the historic Quincy Market area to the waterfront. |

Burnham Memorial Design Competition

Caohai North Shore New Urban District
|  | | | Sasaki and client Shui On applied sustainable principles to the planning and design of the complex project on 485 hectares. The plan integrates native vegetation and open space with an environmentally responsive transportation infrastructure connected to the city and region's existing roadways. It dedicates about 87 hectares of the total site to a mix of high, medium, and low-density housing and about 29 hectares to cultural facilities such as museums, theaters, an amphitheater, and an artists' community. |
