Civic Institutions The design and planning of civic institutions and places is particularly suited to the Sasaki sense of connection and to our understanding of the complimentary requirements of urban design, architecture and open space development. The result of this understanding is a place of civic identity and aesthetic creativity that reflects the needs and aspirations of the community.
Sasaki’s civic work includes the Plymouth Library in Massachusetts, The Jackie Gleason Performing Arts Center in Miami Beach, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, the San Jose Civic Center, Boston Waterfront Park, Charleston Waterfront Park, the Dallas Arts District, the Cleveland Gateway, the Christian Science Center Plaza in Boston, and the U.S. Capitol Visitors Center Improvements.
