Christian Science Center
Boston, MA
The opening of the new BYSO Youth Center for Music marks the first time in 65 years the organization has had a dedicated home.
Sasaki’s renovation balances respect for the revered, iconic building, with careful adaptation to fit the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra’s energizing mission and brand. The I.M. Pei-designed building opened in 1972 as a Sunday School as part of the Christian Science Center Plaza. Right across the street from the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the building is located in Boston’s musical center, making it accessible to student musicians from across the city.
