This month, Sasaki will debut its first-ever app called Go Huskies! at the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) Pacific Regional Conference. Organized around the theme “Game Changers,” the conference will catalyze discourse and engagement around the most relevant trends impacting higher education today. Hosted at the University of Washington, participants including campus planners and university officials will explore new models, creative responses, and innovative partnerships that advance academic missions.
Go Huskies! is a digital scavenger hunt that encourages users to explore and learn about UW’s past, present, and future campus, and was developed as a way to celebrate some of the key recommendations and ideas from the University of Washington Campus Master Plan. Using smart phones, participants can search the campus with their own pack of huskies to network and seek out specific destinations related to architecture and landscapes; entrepreneurship and collaboration; arts and culture; public art; and future planning efforts. At the end of the conference, prizes will be given to the most enthusiastic and determined participants. Created by Sasaki Strategies, a multi-disciplinary group of computer programmers and planners, this app and other tools like it help users engage with their environment and future plans for it.
