Last week, students, alumni, staff, and fans gathered at Colgate University to dedicate their new hockey arena. Designed by Sasaki, the 2,222 seat Class of 1965 Arena is now the home of Colgate’s men’s and women’s ice hockey teams. The facility also accommodates locker rooms for the men’s and women’s lacrosse and soccer teams.
Colgate’s athletic community celebrated the opening with words from Colgate President Brian Casey, the Director of Athletics Vicky Chun, and students amongst others. The ceremony concluded with an official ribbon cutting.
“There's nothing better than seeing a project effort that has spanned multiple years come to fruition at the ribbon cutting. To witness the first face off for both the women's and men's hockey team was a highlight,” reflected Bill Massey, AIA, LEED AP on attending the opening ceremony. “The project has been met with high praise from student athletes, coaches and the administration alike, which is a testament to Sasaki’s hard work, design commitment, and exceptional results.”
Congratulations to Colgate!
