The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority's (MCCA) Lawn on D was awarded a Boston's Best award in the Arts & Entertainment category by the Improper Bostonian, a local lifestyle magazine. The Boston's Best list is an annual compilation of local highlights in a variety of categories, such as arts & entertainment, and food & drink.
Lawn on D, a vibrant urban space next to the Boston Conference and Exhibition Center (BCEC), opened for its second season this May. While 2014 was successful, the space's success is quickly out-pacing last year's, both in terms of attendance and its buzz-worthy programming. Dante Ramos' recent op-ed in The Boston Globe describes the programming successes, "whimsical recreation," in the form of "concerts, a changing roster of eye-popping public art, and other intensive programming selected by a crew of top-notch arts and music curators." For a few days in May, the space hosted an inflatable maze called Pentalum; on Thursday, July 9, five inflatable white rabbits will take over. Last week, in celebration of Ringo Starr's 75th birthday, there was a viewing of 'Yellow Submarine.'"
