Sasaki's Bruce C. Bolling Municipal Building took home this year's International Facilities Management Association (IFMA) Boston award for Best Practice: Large Project over 150,000 square feet. Sasaki, in collaboration with the Netherlands-based design firm Mecanoo, worked with the City of Boston to design a municipal office building in Dudley Square in the heart of Roxbury. The facility is a part of former Mayor Menino's Dudley Square Vision Project, which sought to revitalize the once-thriving urban neighborhood.
The ceremony was held at the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston on May 20, 2015. Congratulations to the entire design team!
About the IFMA Boston Awards:
IFMA Boston's Annual Awards of Excellence program recognizes the finest advancements and contributions in facility management within the Boston A/E/C community.
[Best Practice] awards are presented to the individual or team whose facility management program, project, system, innovation, or idea has had a substantial, positive effect on the success of their organization. They will demonstrate how their project impacted business objectives and contributed to improved success by going "above and beyond" the normal project scope.
