Sasaki is delighted to share that we've won a TxA 2014 Design Award for the Munday Library at St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas. Bestowed by the Texas Society of Architects, the TxA design awards recognize outstanding architectural projects in The Lone Star State.
The jurors were in particular taken with how Sasaki's design relates to the existing library structure, and the sense of connectivity the new building conveys.
"We're very proud of the award and the work we've done with St. Edwards," says Bryan Irwin, principal in charge of the project. "The project really exemplifies where libraries and learning commons are headed—they're no longer quiet temples, but rather flexible, forward-looking hubs of collaboration, learning, and research."
