Sasaki is delighted to announce that our team has been selected to represent the US in the Audi Urban Future Award 2014! This year, Audi seeks specific solutions for future mobility in metropolitan regions, with an emphasis on the link between data and design. The team proposed a "multi-modal mobility marketplace"—a system that coordinates transport supply and demand, in the hopes of sparking greater entrepreneurial innovation.
The team is led by independent consultant and former Sasaki principal Philip Parsons. He is joined by Sasaki Strategies senior associate Ken Goulding, and Mobility in Chain principal Federico Parolotto. Their concept is a compelling representation of Sasaki Strategies—a group within Sasaki that focuses on creative problem-solving through the intelligent use of data and inspiring methods of engagement. The group's proposal was deemed the winner by public online voting, capturing 42% of the total votes cast!
The team will now be competing with groups from Mexico City, Berlin, and Seoul. Each will focus their efforts on a particular city or district. Philip, Ken, and Federico will endeavor to link their multi-modal mobility marketplace concept to urban design implications, focusing on Greater Boston and Somerville, Massachusetts.
