Sasaki Brings “Species” to the Runway

The 20th annual IIDA New England Fashion Show and Benefit Gala took place last month at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center (BCEC). The sold-out and live-streamed event is one of the largest and most exciting New England interior design events of the year. The show represents the nexus of interior design and fashion—stipulating that all models’ garments be made of interiors materials provided by industry sponsors.

Interpreting the show’s overarching theme of “Reflection,” Sasaki’s design, “Species,” explored culture and stereotypes, personal growth and collective progress. “We are all humans on a mission for purpose, for love, for connection,” asserts the bold design statement. “We are all reflections of one another. Let’s step into the future as one species—united with our intentions set to being better tomorrow than we are today.”

Congratulations to the team on this year’s successful show! The Sasaki team was comprised of: Alex Colantuono (Desaluniers), Haley Baker, Kat Monahan, Marlee Gleiberman, Stacy MacMillan & Jen Imbaro. This year’s models were: Osa Ehigiator and Melissa Isidor.

Sasaki also extends special thanks to our sponsors: Nemo, Humanscale, and Luum for their support, efforts, and generosity.

Proceeds from this annual fundraiser support professional development programs, designer certification, and chapter events throughout the year. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds are given to charity.
