Fernandez Elected to BSLA Executive Committee

We are proud to announce that Diana Fernandez, ASLA, has been elected to the Boston Society of Landscape Architects (BSLA) Executive Committee, after previously serving on their membership committee. Fernandez’s two-year term will commence at the end of the annual American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) conference in October. Read her candidate statement below:

“As the first chapter of ASLA, the BSLA has historically led in advocacy for innovation and excellence in our profession. Faced with critical challenges of climate change, inequity and environmental degradation, the BSLA is poised again to lead. As a member at large, I hope to represent our profession with unique perspectives aimed at addressing our society’s most pressing needs. I aim to serve Boston’s design community and believe my impact will be greatest if I can work in service of the BSLA mission.

“The BSLA has continually opened its doors to anyone interested in Landscape Architecture in Boston and, as an advocate for diversity and inclusion in our industry, I see the BSLA playing a critical role in the advancement of our profession and our success in creating more opportunities for people of diverse backgrounds. I look forward to the opportunity of deepening my engagement with the BSLA by helping to strengthen its robust membership and broaden the reach of design.”
