Grove Speaks at ULI Asia Pacific Summit
Earlier this month, principal and landscape architect Michael Grove, ASLA, spoke at the 2018 ULI Asia Pacific Summit. Organized by the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the summit brought together over 500 decision-makers in the real estate industry, with the primary goal of educating leaders on the responsible use of land in order to create and sustain thriving communities worldwide.
In his session, “Transformative Influences on Urban Development,” Grove presented a case study on the 798 Arts District, a site in Beijing that has earned international renown for its unlikely combination of abandoned factory buildings and world-class art and cultural expression. Grove detailed how Sasaki created a framework plan for the district in 2006, providing direction for the site’s sustainable development as it grew into a major hub for China’s arts community.
