We are proud to announce that Sasaki principal Mary Anne Ocampo and associate Diana Fernandez, ASLA, PLA, have been elected to leadership positions in the 2018 Boston Society of Architects (BSA) Leadership election.
Ocampo will repeat her tenure as the Associate AIA Director where she will be dedicated to expanding the agency and value of designers today by creating initiatives that continue to promote diversity and inclusivity through this platform. “I am excited to work with the community in creating a series of exhibitions and workshops that educate and engage the public on local urban issues and design,” reflects Ocampo on her role. “We are so lucky to be surrounded by such a vast design network in Boston.” Previously, she served as the interim Associate AIA Director and will commence a full term in 2018.
Fernandez has been elected to the Membership Committee where she will work to strengthen the robust membership and broaden the reach of design. "I am thrilled to be serving on the Membership Committee and to be able to engage our membership in addressing these needs and issue,” says Fernandez of her appointment. “As our society evolves, the practice of design must also respond to societal needs in order to remain relevant. From bringing different perspectives to the table, to advocating for the needs of our members, to continuing our sharing of ideas around the built environment and the public at large, I see the BSA as a leading voice in evolving the future of practice in design."
