David approaches architecture and interior design with a spirit of collaboration and an attention to detail backed by over 25 years of experience.
By encouraging client engagement, David creates environments with clear identities that foster social interaction and incorporate sustainable resources. His award-winning projects—which range from urban housing to fashion retail—have been widely published and noted for their clarity, meaning, and contemporary sense of place.
Originally from Switzerland, David graduated summa cum laude from Princeton and received his Masters in Architecture with distinction from Harvard's GSD. David is active in civic, academic, and professional organizations, and has chaired and served on numerous boards and juries in Boston and across the country. David currently teaches architecture at Northeastern University and regularly serves as a guest critic at other design schools. A Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, David was also recently inducted into the New England Design Hall of Fame. In addition to being a principal at Sasaki, David is president of Hacin + Associates, an award-winning architecture and design firm located in downtown Boston.
