Alexandra Toteva

Senior Associate

Alexandra is a planner and project manager whose experience spans multiple scales of planning and design—site, district, and region—for the private and public sector, both domestically and internationally. Since joining Sasaki in 2007, Alexandra has applied her expertise to strategic land/real estate development, new communities, mixed use districts, urban infill, adaptive reuse, and institutional projects. Her skillset includes hands-on engagement in all phases of the planning process, from initial site analysis, program development, and community outreach through visioning, alternative concepts iteration, final master plan design, design guidelines, implementation strategies, and entitlements processes.

Practicing at the intersection of planning and design, Alexandra brings a balanced, qualitative and quantitative approach to every project. With a passion for improving the built environment, she enjoys problem solving through interdisciplinary collaboration and strives to bring clarity to complex planning and design challenges. She has a particular enthusiasm for innovative approaches to traditional planning methods. Alexandra continuously advances the development and implementation of numerous original technology solutions, custom planning tools, and Sasaki's SmartPlan software for measuring the impacts of design strategies in real time, ensuring that projects fulfill the triple bottom line objectives of economic, environmental, and social sustainability.

Prior to joining Sasaki, Alexandra was involved in numerous research projects with real estate economist Karl "Chip" Case. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and Economics from Wellesley College and is an active member of the Urban Land Institute and CREW Boston (Commercial Real Estate Women Network, previously NEWIRE).
